Rebecca’s ancestral roots go back to the early 1700’s in Western North Carolina. She cares about what happens here. After graduating from UNC Greensboro with a degree in Geography, she later acquired a Master’s from University of Georgia. Rebecca worked for 11 years in watershed research with the US Dept of Agricultural before transferring to the Environmental Protection Agency. She was the Clean Water Grants coordinator for the 8 southern states for several years then became chief of the GIS and Information Resources Section for the EPA in Atlanta. In 2003, she retired and moved back to western NC and has been involved with the Pacolet Area Conservancy in various roles since 2005.
