Ericka Hincke is a native of Western North Carolina, having grown up in Murphy, and calling the Asheville area home for the last four years. Once done with high school she attended Mars Hill University just north of Asheville, and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Regional Studies, which basically means she got a degree in “All Things Southern Appalachian.”

Throughout her life, she has been to some incredible places, like Alaska and Denmark, but there is always something that pulls her back to those mountains in which she grew up. She loves her home and is very excited to have found opportunities to stick around in the mountains. Her career path has kept her tied to the field of Environmental Education, and she has loved every minute of it.

She is an AmeriCorps Project Conserve alum, serving from 2016-2018 at The North Carolina Arboretum, and is currently working for the US Forest Service. She truly enjoys providing people with opportunities to be outside and sharing the joys of nature in hopes that they will be inspired to learn more, protect, and enjoy nature themselves.
